Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations & Portable Equipment. Tests critical to the safety of any electrical installation required by 17th Ed (BS 7671) & inspection of portable equipment to meet the Electricity at Work Regulations.
21 Jun 2013
This course will cover one of the key systems which must be understood if energy savings are to be achieved in the UK context. It will cover information such as an introduction to boilers and how they work and how to make energy savings from boilers and heating systems.
21 Jun 2013
The building envelope is one the key elements in designing energy efficient buildings as it constitutes the filter between the internal and external environment. The understanding of the façade impact on the energy use, carbon emissions and occupants comfort is fundamental to deliver performance-driven design and sustainable buildings.

Compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations is mandatory in the UK. This course explains the requirements of the Regulations & suggests ways to ensure compliance.
26 Jun 2013
The UK Government is promoting the image of every home having a smart meter by 2020. Industry and commerce must be far ahead of that deadline so that it can effectively understand and control, costs and environmental emissions. It's no longer just pounds and kilowatt hours but also carbon footprints. Smart meters provide that solution.
26 Jun 2013
This course provides an introduction to low and zero carbon technologies covering the technical issues, design and maintenance implications, and the capital and running costs that need to be considered when assessing the applicability of incorporating systems into new and existing buildings.
27 Jun 2013
This comprehensive one day fire safety training course, to accompany the recently published Fire Safety in Blocks of Flats Guide, covers fire risk assessment, fire safety design principles, relevant legislation, Fire Safety Orders, fire protection measures, alarm systems and on-going management control within the challenging environment of ensuring fire safety within large residential blocks. This course is ideal for all those involved in the management, assessment and enforcement of fire safety in purpose built blocks of flats, and gives delegates and opportunity to receive training and guidance direct from the author of this guide.
2 Jul 2013
Vital for the safety and correct function of all information technology equipment - a practical explanation of earthing and bonding systems illustrated with examples.
2 Jul 2013
A general introduction to below ground building drainage systems, covering the key features of typical drainage systems, explaining practical applications, and including some drain sizing examples.
3 Jul 2013
An excellent course for those involved with Facilities Management and the operation and maintenance of buildings and services.
3 Jul 2013
This training course looks at the essential aspects of fire resisting doorsets, starting with the regulatory background proceeding through the various stages to installation, maintenance and ongoing audit. The discussion of door technology will include examination of sample elements.
4 Jul 2013
Concentrating on achieving the deliverable rather than explaining control theory. How do we control different systems? What are we trying to achieve? What equipment is used & how does it work? Suitable for all engineers involved in design and maintenance of HVAC systems. This course is designed for all engineers involved in the design & maintenance of HVAC systems.

Section 6 (Energy) is a part of the Building Regulations most professionals who work in building services need to understand. The aim of Section 6 (Energy) of the Building Regulations is to ensure that effective measures for the conservation of fuel and power are incorporated in buildings. This is a part of the Building Regulations everyone involved in building services needs to be aware of. It is particularly relevant to designers of new buildings who need to consider building performance in a holistic manner.
9 Jul 2013
This wide-ranging course reminds attendees of the reasons for the need to revise HS(G)70 to produce the current HSE L8 2000 document : The Control of legionella bacteria in water systems.
9 Jul 2013
This course provides practical guidance in the preparation of typical FM and Maintenance contract documents and methods of selecting suitable contractors. It also provides clear guidance in the preparation of a bespoke contract and examines the terms and conditions, which need to be considered to ensure that work, meet client expectations.
10 Jul 2013
This course has been designed to give an overview of the areas where local authorities have the potential to make positive interventions to reduce CO2 emissions from energy use in buildings. It will be relevant to officers and members involved in planning, development control, procurement, property services, sustainability and energy management.

The carbon reduction commitment (CRC) currently known as the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is set to have a wide reaching impact on all stakeholders involved in the energy and environmental market, from end users to consultants and other service provides.
The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is a mandatory emissions trading scheme that will deliver energy and carbon reductions in large, not energy intensive organisations. Organisations with total electricity consumption through Half Hourly Meters greater than 6,000MWh in 2008 will be affected.
The course aims to provide a detailed overview to the legislative requirement in addition to covering the practicalities of reporting, giving examples of how wider issues will affect end users and the way service providers operate.
This course includes the detailed practicalities of carbon footprinting and extending this to create a wider strategy.

Since air conditioning systems operate at partial load for most of their lives it is essential to provide a proper system of automatic control. The treatment of automatic controls in this part of the course is virtually non-theoretical. This is because the theory of the subject is complicated. Nevertheless, a reasonable understanding of the subject can be obtained provided that the fundamental principles are outlined and the proper application to air conditioning systems explained.
11 Jul 2013
This course looks at the basic principles of identifying information sources and using that data to expand the organisation's understanding of what is happening related to the consumption of utilities and the output of the organisation.
