The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections)(England and Wales) Regulations 2007 require inspection of all air conditioning systems with rated outputs over 12 kW at intervals not greater than 5 years.

This training will explain how to undertake such inspections in complex buildings and refer to CIBSE TM44: Inspection of Air Conditioning Systems and the Occupational Standard

In Scotland the requirements for inspection are set out in the Scottish Building Regulations.  They require inspection no less often than every 5 years.  Additional guidance, in the form of a short addendum to CIBSE TM44 details the regulations and the requirements specific to Scotland.

Those who have completed the training and are accredited by CIBSE will be able to undertake such inspections. Go to the CIBSE Certification website for details on how to apply to become accredited as an air conditioning inspector.

Those trained and subsequently accredited by CIBSE Certification will be able to carry out inspections of both complex and simple system.

He is Operations Manager of leading HVAC energy saving company Efficient Air, where he heads up the consultancy side of the business, advising a host of the UK's largest organisations on optimising their HVAC equipment. Previously, as Energy and Environmental Manager for East Sussex Hospitals, he was responsible for over 20 sites, with AHU optimisation a key objective. He is a recent Chair of the South Thames Energy and Environmental Forum, a group of approximately 30 energy managers. He is a registered Low Carbon Consultant.
