We run a range of topical conferences thorough out the year. These one day events can cover a variety of subjects such as how to prepare for new legislation, what to expect from new technologies, a focus on new CIBSE publications and how to get the most the information provided and guidance on the current issues facing building services engineers. Most events are one day and held in CIBSE HQ in South London.

The Government has an ambition for all new non-domestic buildings to be zero carbon from 2019, with the public sector leading the way with schools by 2016 and other central Government estate from 2018. Is this achievable? What does zero carbon actually mean? How much will it cost? Can the industry respond to this challenging aim? Do we have the skills?
This Energy Performance Group conference sets out to address some of these questions and to look at how the next 10 years trajectory towards this goal will unfold.

To adhere to growing legislation and the rising demand for sustainable, cost-effective services a high standard of Maintenance Management is crucial. Preparation and planning are key to implementing effective management and ensuring that there is an efficient use of resources, a competent way of dealing with potential risks and working within budget.
The aim of this conference is to update you on the current state of Maintenance and address issues of performance and compliance in a practical way.

To stand up to the weather, the economy and whatever else life throws at us we need information. Information on where the opportunities are, and which strategies to take advantage of them will work for a range of possible scenarios, and which will be derailed by the actions of individuals or masses.
This conference will equip building services specialists with an insight into scenario planning for commercial resilience. It will provide information on the political, legal, environmental and technical changes which will have significant impacts in the next 2-5 years. There will be sessions on ensuring that your designs are resilient, that you have adequately managed legal, contractual and other risks.
For the technically astute, there will be sessions on energy demand management and balancing, smart grids and IP networks on the use of multiple renewable, on providing real value from commissioning and on the issues of real versus predicted energy use in buildings.
This conference will be of benefits to strategists and practical engineers and will provide all with reliable information which will equip them to identify and take advantages of the opportunities today.
